"Bookstores are lonely forts, spilling light onto the sidewalk. They civilize their neighborhoods."—John Updike
Please support independent bookstores

A note from Craig ...
We’re all still reeling from a year unparalleled in our history, one that has challenged our lives and livelihoods, our health, our bonds with each other, even the very foundations of our democracy.
Among the things that have been made clear to me, as I’ve burrowed in at home these many months, is that now, more than ever, we’re reliant on each other in our communities to get through these challenges.
We know how important stories are to fortifying our bonds with each other, and we know that community-minded independent bookstores help show us our shared humanity and strengthen our towns and cities by their very presence. Bookstores are indispensable, in my opinion, absolute pillars of the communities they serve. This is true of my hometown independent, This House of Books, and all the many bookstores in my state, and it’s true of every bookstore that puts out a shingle and engages with the people of its community.
Please support them with your patronage.
